The Approach
Karma designed an AI-enabled evaluation framework built to operationalize compliance review in a more scalable and defensible way.
We began by conducting user interviews and reviewing historical reports to formalize the evaluation logic that had previously lived across manual processes and reviewer judgment. That work established the foundation for a configuration-driven scoring engine aligned to the client’s compliance rubrics, allowing assessment criteria to be applied more consistently across large volumes of documents.
To support intelligent document interpretation, Karma developed an AI agent powered by Azure OpenAI and Retrieval-Augmented Generation. Document embeddings were stored in Milvus DB to enable fast, high-accuracy vector retrieval, helping the system locate relevant information efficiently across large sets of unstructured content. The solution was also designed to generate agent-driven answers, scoring decisions, and structured outputs directly from complex PDF documents.
Because the client operated in a compliance-sensitive environment, the solution was deployed within a secure Azure architecture with access controls and governance considerations built in from the outset.
